Liz came to Josh and I with an EP of music written and recorded in quarantine, with the idea to do a series of videos, covers, and merch. After a number of brainstorming sessions held over ZOOM, we landed on using animation as the vehicle to carry our ideas. This offered us the safest solution to continue isolating, creating, and collaborating.
We wanted to focus on texture, simplicity, and a repetition of shapes and scenes to connect to the lyrics. After landing on our direction and working through the character and scene styles, I designed the style frames that were delivered to Josh to be animated. These were designed with transitions and movement in mind. The final project can be viewed above.
